Dr. Dmitry Astashkin (Moscow)

Dmitry Astashkin is Senior Researcher of the Saint Petersburg Institute of History of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Associate Professor of the Novgorod State University. From 2016 to 2018, he was Co-Chair of the French-Russian project »Soviet War Crimes Trials, 1943–1991: The Aims, Functions and Effects of Selective Mediatization« (together with Alain Blum). His publications include »Die Strafverfolgung von NS-Verbrechen in der ehemaligen Sowjetunion«, in: Beiträge zur Geschichte der nationalsozialistischen Verfolgung in Norddeutschland (2020). He also co-authored the theatre performance »Yes, you will be judged« and the book of the same name about the Soviet trial of Nazi war criminals in Novgorod in 1947, both published in Russian in 2019.
