Dr. Tamás Scheibner (Budapest)
Tamás Scheibner is an Assistant Professor in Literary and Cultural Studies at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, and a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of History at the Research Centre for the Humanities. A former Fellow of the Imre Kertész Kolleg Jena, Scheibner held visiting positions at Harvard, UC Irvine, Aarhus University, and others. In 2019, he was a Fulbright Fellow at Stanford University. He was an Executive Board Member of the H2020 COURAGE project dealing with dissident culture during state socialism. In 2014, he published a monograph on socialist realism and Stalinization in Literary Studies in Hungary in the 1940s and 1950s. In 2020, he co-edited the special issue »Holocaust and State Socialism« for the journal Múltunk. He most recently co-edited the volume Conspiracy Theories in Eastern Europe. Tropes and Trends (2021).
